Green Dot @ Paya Lebar Square

Green dot has been in the market for the last couple of years and they first started business in Schools. I actually remembered them on Kiss 92 last time.
They have finally opened at Paya Lebar Square, giving Miss Veg another option to veg food since there are only 2 veg stalls in the Paya Lebar area. Ms Veg is really greatful and happy! Been eating almost once a week there!
The Shop Front
This restaurant is much bigger than the outlet at Bedok Mall, which only has limited seats.

Interior of the restaurant~ Nice!

Fridge & Food Supplies
This outlet also sells some of the mock vegetarian items and dry food supplies that one can buy home to cook.
Menu
The menu offers a lot more varieties than Bedok, serving Bento Meals, Noodles and Burgers as well.

Mi Xiang Red Tea $5
Tea leaves are from Taiwan - has a fragrance of Honey!

Tom Yum Kway Tiao Soup $6.50
I tried the Tom Yum Kway Tiao during my first time and Really love the fresh vegetables! Theres lots of ingredients and the soup is not spicy, even my nephew loves it!

Herbal Noodles Soup $7.90
Ms Veg's friend had the herbal noodles soup and she comment the soup was not oily and yummy. Again, the ingredients given are more than the noodles!

Laksa $5.90
Another friend of mine tried the Laksa and it was good too! The soup tastes just like the one from the Lotus Restaurant!
Spicy Taiwanese Bean Paste Noodles $5.90
This is Ms Veg's favorite to date as i've never tasted noodles that good! The Konnyaku slices were chewy, and my extra chili gave it and extra kick!

Ms Veg didnt know that they currently still have stalls operating in Schools, and one of them being Ms Veg's sec sch CCHSM! Really happy to see this. We hope Green Dot Open more outlets esp. in the west to continue their love for this planet! What made an impression was the aunties working here - yes they hire many aunties/ mummies/ old uncles who spoke nicely and explain to us whats nice, and service was amazing. Note that this restaurant adopt the return your tray campaign after you are done eating which i think is ok as we do not pay service charge.

You can even like them on Facebook, at times they like to write about their staff which I think is heart warming, the aunties are like mommies to the young guys who are the owners of this business! I look forward to more meals here!

Ming Hoe Vegetarian @ Paya Lebar (明和素食)

Although working in Paya Lebar is a good location for me, I always find it difficult to find vegetarian food. There used to be a vegetarian stall operating at the basement of SingPost builing but it has also closed down. Recently I've been patronising one of the stalls located in a rather run-down coffeeshop thats located right behind Singpost. It is around 6 mins walking time from the Train Station.
Operated by mother and son team, this stall is a good recommendation that never fail to make my day.

The vegetarian stall is located in a coffeeshop named "大宾茶室" (Da Bin Eating House) and the main customers are workers or technicians working at the nearby workshops. At such, the prices of food isnt too expensive and portions are big.

Mixed Vegetables Rice $2.30/ 3 dishes

I must always ask for lesser rice as the portion is big. Its been a long while since I had a 3 dishes mixed vegetables rice for just $2.30. They do have around 10 dishes for you to choose during lunch. Other than the Curry Rice @ Bedok, this is one of the few stalls that sells cheaply. In addition, what I truely enjoy is the free soups! There are different soups served everyday, which I think is depending on the vegetables they have. Sometimes they will cook bittergourd soup, cabbage soup or raddish soup.

Other than mixed vegetables rice, on some days, they will serve specialities like Kway Chap, Laksa. One catch is, you gotta be early for the mixed vegetables rice as they are usually sold out by 1PM. Nonetheless, you may order Tze Char dishes if you do not want to eat mixed vegetables rice too.

Fried Noodles $3

All tze char dishes are priced at $3. I love this dish as it wasn't too oily yet tasty at the same time. The cook uses a lot of vegetables and beansprouts in this dish. They will usually ask if you take eggs. If you don't you will have to inform them.

The best tze char dish is actually their Fried Rice, where usually there would be a queue for it. The fried rice is served with a sunny side up. There are other tze char dishes like Hor Fun, Fried Kway Tiao or Bee hoon soups which you may order. Do note that it may take some time to wait for your tze char if the queue is long since each dish is cooked separately. I hear that chicken rice is served on Saturdays.

Cai Gen Xiang @ Singpost *CLOSED DOWN*

*CLOSED DOWN*

I've earlier updated that this is a new stall at Singpost Banquet Food Court. I was delighted as I no longer have to walk all the way to Haig Road to eat on a hot day!

Anyway, I had a late lunch one day and had to ta bao from the cai gen xiang @ Singpost.

Kway Chap $3

Was looking for soupy food and ordered kway chap. Man.. it was full of ingredients (soya intestines, beancurd and Tau Pok). I wasn't expecting much as I've always adore kway chap by my mum. But this kway chap was really good. It has a strong aroma of tonics which comprise of the star anis, cinnamon and some herbs too. Could tell that it was brewed for a long time, as even the beancurd has turned black. Tasted perfect with chili sauce.

I have yet tried other dishes. They do have the usual mixed-vegetables rice, with brown rice options as well as tze char too. Took the namecard and found that the Terminal 3 outlet is already closed down.

Mongkok Vegetarian (旺角素食) *UNDER RENOVATION*

Don't be mistaken, this food stall is not located in HK, but in Singapore itself. Sometimes as I would be working at the Singpost area, it is not easy to find good food around. However, Wang Jiao seems to have built a good reputation in this area.

This stall is rather special as they do not sell your normal fried bee hoon with the dishes available for you to choose from. This is a Tze Char stall where your food is cooked on the spot. Hence it does take a longer waiting time if the queue is long. One thing I like is, food is served piping hot!

Dumpling Bee Hoon Soup $3
What I like about the soup is it is tasty and not oily, added with the normal ingredients like vegetables, mushrooms and tofu. The dumpings are the frozen kind which can be easily found in the market.

Other than soupy dishes, this stall is well known for their hor fun. I have tried before, the ingredients include mock meats, mushrooms and veg. If you do not want to wait too long, all you need to do is to order the same dish as the person in front. Most prob they will cook together. heehee!
