Yummy Green @ BEDOK

Please note that Yummy green has shifted to Bedok! New Add: Blk 537 #01-511 Bedok North Street 3 Singapore 460537

One of the nights I met gwennie there for a meal before a movie. This cafe is operated by the same owner of Simple Food as well as a sister company of Neno Bali which I've covered earlier.
The simple food @ Tampines sell more of the usual chinese & western cusines while this cafe focus more on Vegetarian Japanese and western dishes.
Yummy Green has been around quite sometime in this building and has given vegetarians at least a choice since the there is no vegetarian stalls in the food court.

Menu

The cafe capacity is pretty small and can accomodate up to 20 pax. There is some menu on the wall. They serve quite a range of japanese and western cusines.
Do note that a lot of mock items are use in most dishes. You may opt for tofu dishes if you are not into mock meat.
Karage Cha Soba $8.80
Comes with a soup for this set. Comprises of Adegashi Tofu, Salad, Karage & Cold Soba noodles. I LOVE the noodles a lot! I guess its because we can't take this noodles in most japanese places since the dip is usually made from fish. As for the karage, It is basically "盐酥鸡" deep fried. Nothing much about it, but the portion is definitely big!

Curry Katsu Don Rice $7.80

Gwen loves japanese curry a lot so she ordered this dish. The chicken chop is similar to those that is sold at Ci Hang. Curry is rather authentic and I guess its because japanese curry doesn't comprise of coconut milk, the curry taste is thicker. Aint too bad a dish.
I think the salads should be served in vinegar instead of mayo. Rather fattening since both dishes have deep-fried items. Hence do be careful of what you order if you are into healthy eating!

24 Hours Vegetarian Stall @ Pasir Ris

Went to this place couple of weeks back as it was still open after 9 in the evening. Sunnietart was telling me that she came here last time at 3am. I guess this is one of the few vegetarian outlets that open round that clock (24/7). Anyway it is pretty near the downtown east hence you may come here if you do have hunger pangs at night.

Stall Front

Nothing special about the stall front, similar to most stalls you see in coffee shops. However, they do have a lot of to offer. Ranging from the normal mixed-veg rice/bee hoon fare to Tze char, it is a stall that does has quite a lot to offer.

Ban Mien $3

Can be cooked with egg if requested. Comprise of lots of veg and some mock meat slides and topped with mushroom fritter. Soup was quite tasty. Aint too bad for a light meal as it wasn't oily.

Dry noodles $3

Comprises of veg Char Siew, Veg and Fried goose. Noodles was a little over-cooked hence I wasn't too satisfied with it. However, the sauce and chili was good to cover up the sogginess, hence its still edible afterall.

Popiah $1

A huge roll indeed! If you have noticed my earlier posts, I never fail to order popiah whichever place sells it, as its my favourite snack of all times! Though this is a huge roll with generous amount if turnip wrapped within, it is still not the best I've eaten. The turnip wasn't sweet enough and there wasn't other ingredients other than turnip. However, I was too full by the time I finish the 3rd piece.

Other dishes available: Tze Char like bee hoon, char kuey tiao, hor fun etc.

Diet: Comprises of Milk/Egg

Location: Blk 443 Pasir Ris drive 6

Operating Hours: 24 Hours Daily except Chinese New Year

Simple Food Vegetarian (原味素食)

The owner of this cafe used to operate at 木船..however, they have since moved and relocated in Tampines. News: thanks to Lina for informing us that Simple Food has got a new outlet at downtown east. thats really great news for vegetarians!
Unique Dish: Mexican Steak

Mexican Steak (墨西哥牛扒) $6.50
I had a craving for this steak before my trip to Taiwan. Hence my parents were very kind to bring me there for a last meal. The steak tastes really good. On the top part is a layer of melted mozzarella cheese, with a spead of home-mixed bolognaise sauce in the middle, making it very unique. The serving is just right. However, if you are a big eater, you may order another plate of pasta.
Other recommendations: Curry Rendang Baked rice, Shabu Shabu pot, Mutton Soup Noodles (only available on certain days), Adegashi Tofu.
